1D STUART BRITAIN AND THE CRISIS OF MONARCHY, 1603–1702

This option will study one of the most tumultuous periods in British History, the period of the Stuart dynasty. Starting with the reign of James I in 1603, this course shall study the breakdown in relationship between the monarchy and Parliament, leading to the English Revolution and Civil War. We will then go on to study how the monarchy was restored with the Glorious revolution of 1688, going onto looking at the end of the Stuart Dynasty.
