JURISPRUDENCE

Jurisprudence is the philosophical study of the law. Jurisprudence (or legal theory) is the study of questions such as "what is the law?", "what does the law do?", "what should the law do?".

CONSTITUTIONAL & ADMINISTRATIVE LAW

This course provides a comprehensive analysis of the Law of the UK's Constitution and Administrative Process. We shall explore issues relating to Judicial Review, Police Powers, Parliamentary Sovereignty, as well as constitutional issues such as Devolution and Brexit.

CRIMINAL LAW

This course covers the subject of Criminal Law under the Jurisdiction of England and Wales. We shall begin by exploring a number of key issues within criminal law, such as actus reus & mens rea, before moving on to looking at specific crimes and defences such as murder, manslaughter, sexual offences, disonesty offences, diminished responsibilty and self-defence.

LAW OF TORT

The Law of Tort is one of the oldest areas of law in England and Wales. This course shall explore the nature of the law of Tort before examining individual Torts such as Negligence, Nuisance, Occupiers' Liability and Defamation. We shall also look at defences in Tort as well as Damages and Remedies.

CONTRACT LAW

Contracts form part of our day to day lives. This course shall substantively explore the Law of Contracts from the formation of Contractual agreements, the terms of contracts, third parties in contract law as well as damages and remedies for breach of contract.

LAND LAW

This course shall introduce the fascinating and detailed branch of law related to property. We shall distinguish between registered and unregistered title, freehold and leasehold estates, easements, freehold covenants and mortgages.

EQUITY AND TRUSTS

In this course we're going to be looking briefly at the development and maxims of equity before looking at the formation of a trust. We shall then move on to explore the law of trusts almost exclusively.
