Y101: ALFRED AND THE MAKING OF ENGLAND 871–1016
The foundations of England can be traced back to the reign of Alfred the Great. This course shall study the reign of Alfred along with a period study of Edward the Elder, Athelstan, Edmund, Eadred, Edgar, as well as Aethelred.

Y106: ENGLAND 1485–1558: THE EARLY TUDORS
The Early Tudor period saw the end of the tumultuous Wars of the Roses. This course explores the reign of Henry VII and Henry VIII, before exploring the Mid-Tudor crisis.

Y107: ENGLAND 1547-1603, THE LATER TUDORS
The Later Tudor period was one that was filled with turmoil and rebellion. This course follows the mid-Tudor crisis following the death of Henry VIII, to the death of Elizabeth I.

Y108: EARLY STUARTS AND THE ORIGINS OF THE ENGLISH CIVIL WAR, 1603-1660
The early Stuart period marks one of the most difficult periods in British History. This course explores the reigns of the Early Stuart monarchs and the origins of the English Civil War.

Y219: RUSSIA, 1894-1941
This course studies the period of Russian history from the later Romanov monarchs, through the Russian Civil war and up to the Start of the Second World War.

Y221: DEMOCRACY AND DICTATORSHIPS IN GERMANY, 1919-1963
Germany went through a period of turmoil between 1919 and 1963. This course explores the nature of the German republic post WW1, through its collapse and the establishment of Nazi rule, to the collapse of the Nazi Regime.

Y318: RUSSIA AND ITS RULERS, 1855-1964
This course studies three main periods of Russian history. The later period of the Romanov dynasty, the subsequent Russian Revolution and Civil war, and USSR under Stalin and Khrushchev.

Y320: FROM COLONIALISM TO INDEPENDENCE, THE BRITISH EMPIRE, 1857-1965
The British Empire went from a position of great strength to collapse between 1857-1965. This course studies this very series of events.
